Position Summary
The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline along with managing all aspects of the sales process including planning, business development, and growth opportunities. Working in conjunction with all areas of the organization, the Sales Manager will prepare and finalize quotes, drive sales revenue, manage client and venue relationships, and focus on retention and growth of existing clients.
This position is comprised of an average 40-hour work week with the expectation that hours will be flexible and overtime may occur. This position is split between our main office and at events venues in-person/onsite.
Job Duties
Sales & Account Management
- Connect with clients and planners to initialize conversations about their events
- Manage all financial aspects of events including clients budget, profit margin, onsite additions, and post event financial reconciliation
- Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals
- Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing to build account plans for key and strategic accounts
- Manage all sales activities using Hubspot
- Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams of your accounts
- Attend venue BEO meetings as required
- Engage with assigned Production Managers to determine successful solutions for the clients in line with their budget
- Coordinate with venue staff for client site visits
- Work with venue sales and marketing teams to develop new mutually beneficial sales and marketing strategies
- Ensure all steps of the sales process are completed for all accounts
Business Development
- Develop and maintain an ongoing list of accounts and contacts for growth activities and log them in Hubspot
- Uphold the professional image and name of the company
- Provide and maintain a positive relationship with all clients, vendors, employees, and independent contractors through effective communication
- Actively engage with clients and industry professionals at conferences, trade shows, and social events
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts
General
- Participate in ongoing sales trainings and other industry development opportunities
- Comply with company policies and procedures
- Comply with company, industry, and legislative health & safety policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
- Attend company meetings as required
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times
- Maintain a cooperative and sensitive teamwork attitude when dealing with clients
- Other duties as required by company
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in event production, business sales, or hospitality
- 5+ years experience in a sales/account position
- 3+ years experience in the live events industry
- Supervisory experience is an asset
- Experience working in a hotel or events venue environment is an asset
- Knowledge and experience in the live events industry
- Knowledge and experience of audio-visual equipment in a live event environment
- Proficiency with the use of computer hardware, software, and programs, including the Internet, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Ability to communicate orally and written at a professional working proficiency level or greater in the English language
- Experience in various aspects of the sales process, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning
- Ability to adapt to new technology
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Strong negotiation skills with clients and vendors
- A strong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction
- Experience working in a hotel or events venue environment is an asset
- Experience using Flex Rental Solutions software is an asset
- Experience using Hubspot and PandaDoc software is an asset
- Knowledge of current workplace health & safety regulations, fire & building codes, and AODA regulations in relation to the live entertainment industry is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle is an asset

Compensation
- Competitive annual salary based on experience and commission plan based on sales revenue
